I did it. I finally let the dog come in.
It's to blasted hot outside to actually think she'll survive out there.
She was so happy to get inside she gave me a wink.
I can hardly breath when I go outside I can't imagine having to be out there all day every day.
We do have a kiddy pool with water and I try to put a frozen milk jug or soda jug out there for her every day but with the temperatures being as high as they are, we don't care to be outside and I'm sure she hates it too. Our backyard has NO shade what-so-ever and she was being ignored more than I like. We do spend time in the evenings out front with her since there is shade out there but that is not enough attention for a little puppy like her. I think if I can just train her to be a good inside dog, FOR THE SUMMER, then I'll feel better about it, not that I feel bad about having an outsdie dog, just when it's this hot and she's not getting the attention she needs, and she'll be more comfortable too. Maybe I'll get a kennel and kennel train her for the inside of the house...
After the first few minutes of letting her in I was regretting my decision to let her in, but I think if I can just train her to stay in the kitchen/ living room it'll be ok.
And if I can train the kids to not get her super hyper, hmmmmm, how to do that????
Any suggestions?
I think she'll be easier to train then the boys, darn it!!!
The only thing I really worry about it her jumping on the kids which is something she LOVES to do and they HATE it!! And she has recently started humping things, particularly my kids and I. What makes a dog want to do that?? I mean I kinda know but I've ha more problems with girl dogs doing that then boy dogs. Max would sit on our boys and kinda straddle them, just like Daisy does but he never humped, she had mounted Dallin standing up and humped away, maybe that is too much info but what the heck, it's kinda gross.
