Miserable!!!

That's how i feel today! This Valley of the Sun should be renamed Hell! It's to blasted hot here. It makes me very, and I mean VERY grumpy! I am torn, I want to move today!! to get away from this stink'n hot place far, far away from here, but I hate to not be close to family, since I'm not really very good at making friends, I'd pretty much be a miserable loner wherever I went. SO to be miserably hot or miserably alone? Not sure which is worse right now.

In an attempt to make the heat in my home not be so hot I am making my house ghetto-fied. I put tin foil on the back window today.

This heat can make a grown woman throw some pretty scary tantrums!!

I think this state is getting hotter and hotter every year.

My children have cabin fever cause they've been cooped up in the house to long. It's diving me up a wall.

I cleaned all morning to try and feel some peace with having a clean house. I got almost all of it done but the front room before I crashed.

Dallin went running down the hall with my loaf of banana bread, the one he really doesn't like that much, sprinkling crumbs everywhere. When I asked him to come back he ran in the kitchen and threw all the pieces under the dining table. As I got up to get him, I tripped on a car in the only room that wasn't clean. I wanted to say a few swear words, instead I kicked the fan. Then as I was vacuuming up the mes under the table, the vacuum fell on me.

Corey got dressed as was ready to go leave to run a couple errands, he "needed" to get a scout book, which very well may have been true but right now at a time like this when I was losing it?!? I don't really blame him, if I could leave my house and myself behind I probably would too. I just told him he would have to take a child with him. He looked at me funny and says, "on my bike(motorcycle)?" I said, "well I guess you'll just have to take the car then."

Motorcycles are very selfish vehicles, I don't like them today!

Terrible, horrible day...

Well the day started out ok, hung out with a friend ate lunch together at my place. Then Corey got all frantic trying to leave for his scout camp out tonight. The van all of a sudden decided it wanted to lose it's steering abilities and so he thought it not to safe to take on a road trip. It's scary enough trying to drive around town in the van I can't even imagine going around the turns in the mountains. So he decided to take our car. Well it didn't quite make it to Payson. That killer hill got it and blew up the radiator. So right when I was about to wander on over to my mother's house to escape the heat of my lovely home I get a call from Corey that I need to get a radiator. So I load the boys up in the unsteerable (you really can steer it, it's just going out so it kinda floats around a lot) van and go down to Alma Imports. Unload the kids and ask for their radiator that their website said they had. Sure enough they have it and they're pulling and it will be there shortly. After waiting a good half hour they bring it out and say, "Oh sorry it's no good". I was a little frustrated and they called around found another radiator close that I could go buy. But the place closes at 5 and it was 4:45. So I asked them to call the place and tell them a mother and her 3 young children are on they're way to get it and to please stay open. They were so nice and did just that. I got the radiator! It was no easy task but I did it. It was also extremely hot not to mention so I was sweating bullets. So I headed over to Walmart to finish getting the stuff for the cake I'm making for a baby shower tomorrow. I ran into an old friend from high school. He was on the phone and me looking the way I did with my sweaty stinky ugly self and one of my children dressed as a monkey I gave a friendly head nod and said hello and quickly was on my way. Then while I was waiting in line to check out he comes up to talk to me. I apologized for how I looked and proceeded to explain why. Corey out of work, no air in home, breaking down cars, etc. Then I look at Dallin and he's holding himself which isn't unusual but it was mixed with the potty dance and so he offered to take Dallin to the potty for me. Now I wouldn't just let any ol' person take my kid to the potty but I took seminary with this guy and know him and his family pretty well and felt very comfortable letting him help me out. Dallin looked at me like "are YOU ok with this mom?" I gave him the go ahead and he went. Then when he got back before I could finish checking out and pay for my stuff he had swiped his card and paid for my entire purchase. It made my day. He was so generous and caring. I am truly grateful for his generosity. I was instantly put into a much better mood. He said everyone can use a little help sometime. I can't wait til I'm on the other end and get to help someone, I look forward to it!! Then as I was driving home I was waiting at the stop light and looked over to see NieNie sitting right next to me in her car. I was so excited!! I'm not exactly sure why but it was pretty dang cool. I was on the phone with Corey telling him about my wonderful friend at the store and I told him about NieNie and he asked if I was gonna stalk her. Silly guy, but if I hadn't had melting stuff in the back seat I might have. J/K She looked great much better than my raggedy old self. So that was my day. Now Corey just got home with my wonderful dad who drove up to almost Payson to tow Corey back home with his car so he can hurry and replace the radiator and drive back up to Payson and meet up with the rest of the Scout campers.

My house thermostat currently reads 91 degrees. Oh happy day, it's 8 o'clock and it just turned back on!!

New Favorite saying...

Dallin's new favorite thing to say is "your crazy (fill in any name here)". He says matter of fact like. While building a fort together he just says, "you crazy bryant" or the other day when i asked them if they would like a snack and tried to offer them a cheese stick he says, "no, that's not a snack, you crazy mommy" cause of course fruit snacks are the only "snacks". He's too funny!!

Ahhhhhh.....

I feel as though my life is like a stripped nut. Today while watching my husband as he was explaining his complete frustration about the nut that wouldn't come off of a bolt and the terrible place it was positioned on the car he was trying to fix, it occurred to me that is exactly how i feel. I'm the tool that is trying to get that dang stripped nut off, turning and turning but never getting anywhere. Today my lovely little neighbor girls came over to play with the boys while I clean my house. It was absolutely lovely!! I love every minute of there time at my house. But then they left... It feels like to me for at least the last 3 weeks no matter how much I clean, how long, how hard, none of it matters cause I can not for the life of me make my home feels and look clean. It is driving me crazy and I just want to cry. I really do want to be a good house keeper but I can't figure out how to do that. My kids are so destructive it's sickening. I really feel do feel like I would be a great candidate for a spot on the Super Nanny show. I know it is my fault but I am trying, it's not like I don't punish my kids. And frankly I get really tired of telling them no. They're kids, they want to play. I don't blame them for being a little crazy, it's too blasted hot to go outside, until about 5pm then it's too blasted hot to be inside OUR house. I'm to lazy to take them places like the mall and to poor to afford a fun play place. Plus even if I took them to those places my fearless monkey would find a way to destroy something. It's so sad to me. I'm not sure where their lack of fear comes from. I remember as a child being to afraid to even think about doing the things they do. I would watch my sister and brothers as they went about doing crazy things and just thinking, oh man one of them is going to get hurt, I just know it!! But no not my kids, they are absolutely insane. And anyone that knows my kids would agree.

It's pretty hard to think about my life right now. Brings lots of tears to my eyes. I know I have to much to be grateful for but it's so hard to sit down and think about all the wonderful things I DO have when I sit down and see my disgustingly messy house and hear the highest pitch noise coming from my middle child followed by lots of hitting and wrestling.
I am grateful for a wonderful happy baby, who's only flaw right now might be his teething and constant spitting up. But those are nothing I can't handle happily. And my husband who although stressed to the max and a bit down in the dumps himself has been a big help, when I REALLY need him and works hard to try and get any work he can.
And I have my lovely parents that let me run to their house whenever I need to get out of the heat of my home or for whatever I need. They have been so good to give Corey and I little jobs to make a little money. I don't know what we would do without them. Although I feel a bit bad sometimes when we're there too much.
There I thought of a few good things.

Drawings...

Every night when we read scriptures, Corey draws the boys pictures of what I'm reading. Tonight as we were getting ready for bed Bryant and Dallin said, "I want to draw Nephi." It is so cute how much they love this special coloring time at night. Then they are off to bed to says their prayers and lately I have been torturing them with my horrendous singing as the drift off to dreamland. Dallin just came out and asked if I would bring my book (the Hymns) and read to him because, "it makes me happy mom". I love it when they make me a happy mommy!!

In all honesty...

I did go a little crazy yesterday. Between the heat, a messy house, out of control children, and a jobless husband (not that he isn't trying, cause he is and I need to give him big credit) I about lost my stink'n mind. But.... after I couldn't stand it one more second we loaded in the car and headed over to good ol' air conditioned Walmart and bought us some fun spray bottle and a nice big box fan. It sounds weird but the ac in the hot car even felt good. Now I need to make things a little clear. Our ac is not entirely broken. We can turn it on and use it and it does cool the house. It was just making some horribly disturbing sounds when we turned it on Sunday night. One of the biggest reasons we are not using the ac is because we are trying to save money. The ac is one of the biggest money suckers in our home. It comes in right before our 3 hoodrats (not sure if that is how it's spelled). So it's been 2 days now with very little ac usage and right now I'm finding it kkinda fun to discover new ways to keep cool. The spray bottles are nice but they are used more for things like...
This
Our house is getting the ultimate wash down.

And they use it like this
I suppose they are pretty thirsty when they are hot.
So for now we are having fun saving money.
We also purchased a timer for our water heater and I'm going to have Corey help me build a clothes line in the backyard to minimize our dryer usage.
It'll be neat to see how much money we can save.

Staying cool...

Our thermostat reads 87 degrees right now and it's 3 pm. I guess we're doing pretty good. I'm sure there are others out there that are in worse conditions. But to be honest being hot makes me a wee bit cranky. So to keep cool I had a great idea...

Wet towels to keep us cool.
Oh and plenty of ice water!!!
Look at this happy boy.
Silly face
Now your getting it Asher.
Keep'n cool

Oh so refreshing!!!
This is temporary until we go to the store to get some fans and spray bottles.
When I get hot I just have to remind myself I'm saving money.

Weekend Happenings...

So this weekend Corey and I, along with the boys, drove up to Utah to see a cousin of mine get married. It was a very nice weekend and wedding. It did rain pretty much the whole time and it was an outside wedding. But it all worked out and was lots of fun. Although I do have to say driving 10 hrs+ with 3 kids is a bit insane!! Surprisingly the one that was the best behaved was Asher.
The beautiful cool weather and family in Utah sure was nice. While we were driving to and from Utah Corey and I read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover. We are super excited and ready to get out of debt. When we got home we looked at our bank account and were excited that we already had completed baby step one. We have a small emergency fund. Then I went to turn on the AC but turn it way up since we're trying to save our money in every way possible and was incredibly bummed when we discovered where we will be using our first emergency fund, plus another couple $1000's. We need a new AC unit. We'll have to see how that is gonna all work out.

Kirsten's Wedding

They did it!! For Time and All Eternity!
I love being in the temple with so many family members!
It was a super fun exahusting weekend.
Levi and Kirsten with niece's and nephew's and a couple siblings.
Kirsten with some of her brothers.
She looked so beautiful. It was so fun to see her so happy!
This is the cake I made for her. It was fun but a challenge making it in a different elevation. It was tricky. Got done making it at 1 am the night before.
Cute family photo.
There were lots of people taking pictures that's the reason we're all looking different places.
Cousin's, too cute!
I love the look on Asher's face!
Dallin loved this little kitty the whole weekend.
I considered taking it home but decided against it.
Uncle Tyler was nice to clean off the boys after their daddy let them get terribly messy.
See the pictures below.
Dirty Dallin
Boy: n., noise with dirt on it
It was so funny, he got dirt in his mouth and wouldn't move it from this position. He was taking through his teeth. Too cute!!!
