Flying Fun

The other night Corey set up his flight simulator on the projector and him and Dallin had lots of fun. Don't mind the messy house, I'm not worried about that, I'm just trying to be a good mom. Anyways... they had a lot of fun and it was pretty cool.
Dallin flying solo. He really gets into it, he plays a lot like his dad.
I know this is dark but if you can tell it is the whole wall that has the screen on it, and I know it looks like I forgot to turn the picture but I didn't that just how Dallin flys. He is a big fan of barrel rolls. It's lots of fun to watch movies and stuff with the projector.

What a wonderful night!!!

I just got home from the Women's Broadcast and I just have to say I love this gospel!! I love the church that I belong to! I love the people that gave talks tonight, and for all the many wonderful people there at the church building with me. The broadcast didn't start until 8pm here on the east coast so for our stake they had a Relief Society Conference before had. We had different classes to go to and let me just say that was fantastic!! I didn't get the memo that it started at 5 so when I found out at 5:45 I threw a dress on gave all the boys a kiss and rushed out the door. I got there in time to get the second round of classes before dinner. I went to a class about stress and it was great. Then we had dinner and then watched the broadcast. I absolutely loved the talk by Sis. Julie B. Beck. When she talked about who was gonna be her mom when her mom left I knew how she was feeling. I am so grateful for this past week and the incredible amount of blessing I have received to be able to find so many friends. It's like I had been praying for friends then all of a sudden wham, Heavenly Father threw like 3 or 4 of them at me in one week. Tonight as I sat there and listened to this talk I actually felt like I was surrounded by my sisters, and I was so grateful to have this feeling. I felt close to those around me and love them very much. After Elder Uchtdorf's talk I wanted to go out and help everyone in need and never stop smiling. I thought about all the people that I have met or seen recently and how I wish I would have helped them more. I will try harder from now on. I want my children to see me doing acts of service. I want them to see me happy and being kind to others. I want them to see me kneeling in prayer, I want to set that good example for them so that they will grow up and do it themselves. I have had the best feelings that my heavenly father loves me and is happy with me and where I am in life. I continue to want to grow and be better. Since I moved over here I have gone out with the sister missionaries several times and let me tell you me testimony has grown SO SO SO much since I started. I have found out so many reasons why I love this church and how it blesses my life and how it can bless others lives too. I want to tell people (I'm still working on that) but it makes me so happy when I see others learning about the gospel and wanting to know more. I brings me such great joy that I know it makes my heavenly father that much more happy!! I'm grateful for this wonderful church and all the happiness I have from living the gospel.

Blessings!!!

This morning was a little different than most for me. Just to give you a little background on what I'm dealing with here... When I moved here I was assigned a visiting teaching companion. This girl is a little special. She cannot see well enough to drive and can hardly hear. It makes it a little challenging sometimes. Well earlier this week she called me and asked if I would take her to the church on Wed. morning to get her food. I was a little confused why her food was at the church but soon realized that it was a food order that she needed. I told her that I had no problem doing that and I would come get her on wed. Now when ever we go visiting teaching I always call our sisters and set everything up but I thought it might be good for her to do this once in a while so I had her call them and set it up. She got a hold of one lady and told her be would come by on wed. Tuesday night I got a call from the lady we were going to visit and she also needed her food order picked up so I told her that I would do that, no problem. So instead of going way over to pick up my visiting teaching partner, drive all the way back by my house to the church and then all the way back to her house to drop off her food, and so on... I just called her and told her that I was going to pick up her food and bring it to her and then we would go VT. When I arrived at the church this morning I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure where to go or what I would need to get their food. I soon witnessed why ours is the true church. I stood there while this huge truck was unloaded and everyone helped to get things organized. It was amazing to me how wonderful it is for people to receive this wonderful blessing. I pitched in and helped to get it organized and then went and stood in line for my dear sisters that were in need of help but couldn't go to the church themselves. I just sat there in awe at how cool this whole experience was. I turned to the girl behind me and started talking to her about how neat it was and then mentioned how it was kind of chilly out. She said yeah I'm not used to this cold weather. We got to talking and found out we had a TON!!! in common! Here's the list of the things we have in common, get ready to be amazed!!!
1. We are both from AZ.
2. We both moved here 6 months ago.
3. We both now live in Charlotte
4. We both have 2 kids, which are both 1 year apart, hers are 1 &2, mine are almost 1 &2.
5. Both our husbands are pilots.
Now how freak'n crazy is that??? We talked for a while and exchanged numbers and found a new friend. I am so grateful that I could meet her. As I drove away this morning I thought about how much my heavenly father loves me. He knew exactly what he was doing with me all along. A few weeks ago I was kind of frustrated with the ward and wondered why they would put me with this visiting teaching partner and to visit these old ladies that live so far from me. I almost asked if they would switch me with someone more like me so that I might find a friend. Well today I figured it out. He put me with Terresa, so that she would call me this week to get her food. He had me teach Adaline so that I would also get her food for her. I needed to be there today to meet my new friend Becky. To give her a friend. I have been praying to find a friend and by golly he answered my prayers. I called Corey after I left and explained to him what had happened and he told me that him and the boys had prayed for me to find a friend also this morning. I love my heavenly father and all he does for me. He is amazing!!

The Binky Boys

This morning I went to go do some visiting teaching and while I was gone Corey captured a cute picture of my binky boys!
Yesterday we went to the zoo. It was a perfect day. It was so nice outside, I think it was in the low 70's and so beautiful!! We had a great time getting out f the house and with Corey there too! We sure love having him home with us!! So here are a few pictures of our day at the zoo.
Dallin and Daddy looking at the alligators.
Looking at some water turtles I think?
These were the coolest sea lions. They made me want to jump in with them. They were so playful and kept swimming around and giving us some pretty good entertainment. Now I really want to go to Sea World, I think Dallin would love that.
Cute Sea Lion
Huge Turtle
They have this really cool maze in the kid zone area that Dallin just loved!! He had a blast going through it.
Then they have a play ground area for kids to play and eat lunch. We stopped and let Dallin explore.
Bryant liked the lady bug.
What a cute kiddo!!
We came up to the grizzly bear exhibit and he was under the waterfall just hanging out there and then we got our food out to eat some and he got up and came right over by the wall we were at and started sniffing around. It was pretty funny.
Elephants.
Cute kiddos!!
Then throughout the day Dallin got a few bumps and bruises. First right when we got there he tipped over in his stroller and totally whacked his head on the side of the van really hard and got the bruise by his eye and on the side of his head. Then after looking at the elephants he decided to be a dare devil and jumped out of his stroller into the side of a cement wall, therefore causing the bruise on the front of his head that you see here. Poor guy!! And he's not asleep for hitting his head it's from a long day at the zoo. So no he doesn't have a concussion.

This morning before I left for VT I got a cute picture of my boys in bed with Daddy. They love cuddling in the morning, they just laugh at each other it's to cute!!

Quick Update...

Well I know it's been a while, like a a whole 4 days, so I thought I would update y'all on what we have been up to...
It has become one of Dallin's nightly rituals to take everything off the couch and pile it either on me or in the middle of the room. This night he made a huge pillow pile and played on and in it for a long while. It was pretty cute to see him having so much fun with these few pillows.

Silly boy!!!
Then one day he was sent to his room for time out for biting his brother. Every time I put him in time out I just put him in his room, where all his toys are, I don't really care if he plays he just has to be away from everyone else for a while. Well, as I was saying, every time I put him in his room for time out he puts himself in time out to. I always go in a few minutes later to find him in a corner some where just sitting there. It is so funny. The first time I found him in the corner of his room on top and under all of his stuffed animals, this time he was in the corner of his closet with all this stuff on top of him, it is too funny!!!
The other day Dallin was pretty quiet so I went to look for him and found him in his room playing nicely by himself looking at his books.

Then the other day he took his stuffed animals and hid in the cabinet out in the living room. I think he has a thing with hiding?!?

This is us a church, Bryant is quite the ladies man in nursery!!!
He's so cute!!!
Then this is so scary to me... Dallin loves to cook!!! I walk out of the kitchen for a few seconds and he has a chair up by the stove stirring my food for me. He is actually pretty good at it but he also likes to climb up on the stove when it's not on, so I am afraid he will do that when it is on. And one of my biggest fears is him getting burnt by something off the stove. I know I should just put the chairs on the table or something but he will find a way, he is one determined kid!! Look at the joy on his face!! He's gonna be a chef I just know it!!

Fun Stuff and Bonkers!!

Today I received a package from my wonderful mother!! She is so awesome and thoughtful! She called me earlier this week and told me to be watching for something special just for me, and today I got a lovely package in the mail that just made me smile. Thanks so much mom for the awesome person that you are! Thanks for your wonderful example on how to treat people kindly. I hope that I can always be as good as you at helping people feel loved and special. Now my mom said the gift was supposed to be for "just me" but I had to let the boys have some fun with it too...

and then today on our way out to go to play group Dallin tumbled down the cement stairs leading up to our apartment. I'm not sure how many steps he fell down cause I didn't see him but this is what he had to show for his dare devil move. (it actually looked worse this morning but his head and nose are scratched and both his elbows)

What a Sale!!!

Look at all these clothes!!! I bought all these cute, can you believe that cute, boy clothes at Children's Place for $.99 a piece. I got 22 items for $23. It is so cool!! They are having a huge sale on all their summer clothes so I went and bought a ton of stuff for my boys for next summer. I can't wait!! I can even have them wear the shirts this winter so what a great deal huh? I don't know if they are doing this in Arizona but you might check it out cause it's a great sale!!

Family Fun Night!

Today it rained all day so we had plenty of time to do things in our house. Corey decided that he would take apart the projector that we bought before we came to NC. It stopped working after watching one movie on it when we got here. So after taking it apart and not seeing anything wrong with it he plugged it in and what do you know it worked. So since it was raining and in my family it is a family tradition to make chocolate chip cookies on rainy days, I made chocolate chip cookies and Corey set up our projector and we watched Madagascar on the wall with the projector. Dallin thought it was amazing! The picture quality is not that great but you could see it pretty well and it sure was fun! After the movie was over Bryant and Dallin had a wrestling match on our living room floor. They were so cute. Dallin loves to throw Bryant around and sometimes Bryant loves it too. This was one of those times. Then Bryant showed off his new crawling skills, which is another sight to see!!! Anyways, it was a wonderful family night, yet again!!!

This is how he does it, he gets up on his hands and tippy toes, then flops down on his tummy, doing a belly flop and gets up and does it again! Very Cute!!!
Dallin being amazed at the huge picture on the wall.
Here are 2 very dark videos of the boys wrestling and playing, too cute, hope you can tell what it is!

Time Out!!!

I finally had it with Dallin tearing apart my house so I put him in time out in his room. A little while later I went in to check on him and this is what I found... he had taken all his stuffed animal friends and piled them up and sat on the while holding a couple. He is to cute!! He liked it so much that he got up from his animal throne...
To come shut the door, shutting me out!
I sure do love that kid even if he does destroy my house!!

We may have found a cure!!!

Ok well Corey and I decided that we would try the cry it out thing, and by golly, I think it might be working. The first 3 nights we not so hot. He would scream and scream for the longest time before he would fall asleep even though he was tired. The 3rd night was a little shorter on the first screaming session and he only got up once that night and cried. Then Thursday night, the night Corey had to leave for his four day trip, I was all alone and worried that I wouldn't be able to make it on my own. Well Bryant cried for 5 min's that night and slept the whole night thru!!! It was amazing. And Friday night, the 5th night, he didn't even cry when I put him to bed and he slept again the whole night thru. And again last night, no crying and a whole nights sleep. This has been amazing. Now only if I can get the two of them to sleep in the same room we will be golden!! The only thing, and I know I should not be complaining at all because it is wonderful that he is sleeping thru the night, but I think getting this much sleep is making me more tired. Weird I know but my body is used to getting little sleep that I think it feels over loaded with sleep. I just can't be happy can I, haha!!

Sleeping Habits...

Well if any of you know me and my lovely little man Bryant, you know we have a hard time sleeping at night. Since the kid was born he hasn't been able to figure out what nights are and what you do at night. I have tried many different things with no permanent luck. So now we are trying the cry-it-out thing. I hate it!!! I can't stand to let him cry. The past 3 nights Corey has been so good to help me because if it were up to me I would never be able to make it past 10 min's. Well tonight I am doing it solo and he is in fact getting better. He only cried for 5 min's and then he was out. Hurray!! Hopefully this will work and we can put Dallin back in his own room (Dallin has been our room for the last 3 nights since Bryant's CIO sessions scare the crap out of him). Wish us luck!!!

My Latest Project

So yesterday it was raining outside all day so I decided I would paint the boys bathroom. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out, I think I am gonna have to change the ducks, don't like how they turned out. I tried to do it simple with things I had at home, in other words, cardboard stencil that didn't work that well. My favorite part is the bubbles that I painted. They turned out ok. Now I need to clean my house cause it smells funny. Anyways...

All Alone...

Every time I take Corey to the airport for his job and know that he will be gone for a few days I get a feeling of loneliness. I'm just not sure how to be a friend I guess?!? I have the same conversation with Corey every time I take him also, why don't I have friends? He always tells me that I need to be the friend that I want to have but I am trying to be that person I just am not sure who to be that person to. I am really confused, maybe I didn't learn the lesson on how to be a good friend, someone that others wanted to be around. Am I the only young mom that has nothing to do? I mean I can clean my house and then clean it again. I can take care of my babies but is that all us young mom's are supposed to do? How boring!!! There has to be something I am missing! Is there like some secret society that I have not been informed of? Does every mom have these feelings of boredom and loneliness? If so why? We should, meaning the lonely and bored cause I know there are those of you out there (Carolyn) that have plenty to keep yourselves busy, but us non-busy moms should get together and hang out. Oh wait most of the people I know live hundreds of miles away from me. Dang it!!! Well that's another thing, why the heck can't I find friends here? I'm so sick and tired of not having friends! If anyone has any ideas for me please let me know what the heck is wrong with me!!! Thanks!

Home again, Home again!!

Well we are finally home again after being in Arizona for the last week and a half. We had tons of fun, but I must admit I think I over did myself at the very end!! Our plans for going to AZ consisted of:
1. Family Reunion
2. Clean out Storage Unit
3. Garage Sale
4. Visit Family and Friends
I can say we did accomplish all those thing!! First, we got there on the wed. before the reunion so that we could move the piano my parents had given me a year ago. My lovely sis-in-law and family were storing it for us but since they were moving to Michigan it needed to find a new home. I would have liked to keep it but I couldn't find another place to store it so I had to try and sell it. After going to pick up the piano I could see that my sis-in-law was in need of some help packing so I offered to help her. Then next day I went over and helped her pack up, hopefully I did it well enough that I was helpful and not just a waste of time. It's hard to pack for other people as we all know, because it's not our stuff and everyone has "their" way of doing things. So after that was done we left on Friday for the family reunion. We had a ton of fun, the theme this year for our family reunion was "Rednecks". We had the redneck Olympics in honor of the Olympics this year. We had a hub cap throwing event, lifesaver/toothpick passing event, and the trampoline event. Me and Corey performed the couples routine on the trampoline. It was pretty silly but fun!! Then Corey had to go back to Charlotte for work. I stayed in AZ to empty the storage unit and have a garage sale. On wed I went and visited one of my friends that is preggo. She wasn't feeling so hot being preggo and all, so I brought in the troops to help out a little. Then the next day emptying the storage was quite the task for a mom with two babies. I did a few loads from the unit to my sis-in-laws house (where I was having the garage sale) in my car with the boys, that didn't work so well cause there is only so much room in a car with 2 car seats. So luckily my wonderful father and brother helped me on Thursday night to finish emptying it. Then I stayed up late Thursday setting up the sale and early Friday morning I got up, put out signs, and did the sale. I had a great turn out on Friday. My sis-in-law, I have a lot of those, Kirsten came over to help me with the boys, thanks Kirsten. Then on Sat. after getting no sleep because Bryant wasn't doing good that night, I did it all over again. I didn't have as much luck Sat. as I did Friday with people buying stuff. Right before I hauled off all of the leftover stuff to my parents house I sold my piano. Yahoo!! I made a grand total of $630 off all my junk. And I still have a ton of stuff that I can sell. Does anybody need a couch?? Anyways, that's where I did myself in!!! My dad and I moved everything from my in-laws to his back porch and that couch was super heavy!!! I'm a little worried because I had a c-section 7 months ago and that couch was pretty heavy and I have been having a lot of problems since then involving that area that would make me think I might have hurt myself, anybody know anything about c-sections and about how long it takes to heal from them entirely??? Anyways, by Sunday I was just purely exhausted!!! Physically and emotionally and just about every way you can think. I got up at 3:45am to catch my plane that left a 6:00am on Monday morning. My dad helped me to security and then I took it solo the rest of the way. Luckily the boys were pretty well behaved and we got home around 12:30 and then waited til 3:30 for Corey to get done flying to go home. It was good to go to AZ and see everyone but we are happy to be home and especially to have Corey here with us. Now here are a few, well a lot of photos from our trip...
The flight to AZ was wide open so we gave Dallin is own row.
